Here in the Atlantic Ocean, not too far from the centre of Europe, we find the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo.
The archipelago is famous for its friendly people, exceptional natural beauty and mild climate.
Madeira Islands are just a short trip from Europe, to a destination where you can combine holidays on the beach, in the mountains or in the city.
Madeira and Porto Santo are the ideal places to relax and restore the balance of mind and body that you need to face the stress of daily life.
Madeira for couples

Visit the Laurissilva Forest. Classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, it boasts trees such as the laurel and the white poplar, and birds such as the kestrel and the long-toed wood pigeon.
Take the opportunity to plunge into the natural swimming pools at Porto Moniz or the Garajau Natural Reserve and hire a sailing boat for a romantic trip off the coast.
For a truly gastronomic day out, have lunch by the sea in Fora d' Água, enjoy a traditional English tea at Reid's, sample the fusion cuisine at Choupana Hills and later try a vodka with mango sorbet at the Café do Museu.
And don't leave this "floating garden" without toasting your journey with a glass of the famous Madeira wine at the Madeira Wine Institute.
Beaches of Madeira
In the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by water on all sides, Madeira is a charming garden where you can swim and enjoy the sea all year round.
The sea, always nearby, has an irresistible appeal that provides all of the island's visitors with some unforgettable times. The sun is a constant presence throughout the year.
Due to the steep slopes on the island, which terminate in abrupt cliffs, the beaches are like pontoons. The sea is calm and clear, delighting those who appreciate nature.
Funchal marina, in the centre of the city, constitutes a much visited centre of entertainment. There are facilities, for those who want to sail, water ski, jet ski, parasail, etc.
If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, then the waters around Madeira are perfect. The coast at Jardim do Mar and at Paul do Mar has excellent surfing conditions, with waves for all tastes.
The island offers good conditions for all those who wish to enjoy the sun and swim, given that nearly all of the hotels have excellent swimming pools, the majority of which are salt water pools.
In Funchal, there is a salt water swimming pool complex, Lido, which is very popular. Don't leave without visiting the famous natural swimming pools at Porto Moniz, which are carved out of the rock.
Another way to enjoy the very blue sea is to take a cruise along the coast. These fascinating trips can last for just one day and during the trip you can swim, sunbathe and fish.
Seen from the sea, Madeira is a different and even more beautiful island.
