It gives to all of us a great pleasure to welcome you to Estalagem Jardins do Lago and we wish you all an enjoyable stay. In order to guarantee a comfortable and peaceful holiday to all our different guests, we have created some premises and services for families with children staying with us.
At the top floor (4 th floor), away from the rooms, we have available a children's play area with television, Play station (DVD's and games that can be booked out at Reception), pool table and table football. There is also an area for younger children, which is stocked with toys and books. Please encourage your young ones to keep the area clean so we may all enjoy. Play area hours is from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.
Outside and next to the tennis court there is a great, quite shaded area with a nice playground and we also have a children's pool (which was designed with the smaller ones in mind) in a cosy and reserved area close to the adult's swimming pool.
We would gently like to remind you that your children must be supervised by at least one parent whilst using the paddling pool or the adventure playground and whilst in the swimming pool that no diving, jumping, screaming or "bombing" is permitted anytime. Please do not encourage your children to bring the inflatable toys (balls, rubber rings) to the adult's swimming pool.
Please note that we have a variety of special lunch menus for adults and children served in the swimming pool area. Parents and children can enjoy their lunch in an appropriate shaded Bistro area specially prepared for families.
Children's "high tea" is only served in the "Pink Room" between 5.00 pm until 6.30 pm. Please note that children under 8 years of age are not allowed to use our "Beresford" dinning room.
We have also available a comprehensive baby listening service which permits, via the phone in your room, to listen any potential problem with your children whilst they are in the room and you are having dinner or enjoying your evening. We hope this will give you a bit of "time out" from being mummy and daddy.
If requested in advance at our Reception desk, at an extra charge we can make arrangements for a baby sitter or nanny.

Gardens :
The gardens with 495 different species of plants are unique in their variety and natural beauty with an area of 2.5 hectares full of wonderful examples of rare species and old trees as well as colourful and delicate flowers.
The flora of "Jardins do Lago" is such a rich and diversity collection that it could rival with any good botanical garden.
The garden has a fantastic collection of centenary examples, such as Dracaena Draco from Madeira, Syncarpia Glomelifera from Australia, Cinnamomum Campitora from China / Japan, as well as many fantastic varieties from all over the world as Jacaranda Minosifolia from Argentina, Pandanus Utilis from Madagascar or the Erythrina Abyssimica from Tropical Africa.
Many of the trees in the Quinta were planted since the early eighteen-century. The different owners of this Quinta always kept contact with various Botanical Gardens worldwide and invested lots of love and time improving this relaxing and colourful gardens which have been the home for 47 years of "Colombo", the Quinta`s giant tortoise.
